I am an architect and interior designer based in Florida, working on residential and commercial projects from the first drawings through to construction. Working across both sides has shaped how I approach things. A plan that looks right on paper still has to deal with structure, code, drainage, and the way a building performs in this climate, and in Florida that last one drives more decisions than people expect. Most of what I write about comes from that overlap. Why a wall cannot simply move, how a finish behaves after a summer of humidity, what gets decided long before anyone is choosing tile. The projects I like best are the ones where the practical answer and the good looking answer turn out to be the same thing.
