The top of this cart is big. It is 47.5 inches long and almost 2 feet wide, so you have room to roll out rotis, cut vegetables for the whole family, or keep the mixer and the chopping board side by side. It is 36.5 inches high, which is about the height of a normal kitchen counter, so you can work on it standing up without bending your back.

There are 2 open shelves under the top. The space above the middle shelf is 13.5 inches and the space above the bottom shelf is 13.4 inches. That is enough height for things like:

• a microwave or an air fryer
• big steel patilas and the pressure cooker
• baskets of onions, potatoes and garlic
• oil bottles and large dabbas of atta and rice

The bottom shelf is 4.6 inches off the floor, so you can still sweep under it easily.

Because it has wheels, this cart is very handy in a small kitchen. When you are not using it, push it against the wall. When guests come and you need more space to serve, pull it into the middle. While you are cutting or kneading, press the lock on the wheel with your foot and the cart will not move.

The top and the shelves have a walnut brown finish. The wood lines are pressed into the surface, so you can feel the texture when you run your hand over it. The frame is made of black square metal tubes, and the shelves are fixed inside it with metal bars all around.

You don’t have to keep it in the kitchen. It also works as a serving counter in the dining area, a tea and coffee station, or a work table in the store room.

Care:

• Wipe the top with a damp cloth, then dry it.
• Don’t put a hot tawa or kadai straight on the top. Use a stand under hot vessels.
• Don’t leave water standing on the top or the edges for long.
