Description

These are a really good choice for people who prefer their room to stay dark, because once you put these curtains on the window, the light coming from outside will not bother you. They are made from fairly thick fabric, so they are also quite durable and do not get damaged easily. The color does not fade quickly either, so you can wash them and use them again and again without worrying about the color losing its look.

Warm Ochre And Navy Floral is the loud one. The background is a very dark navy, almost black, but you hardly see it, because the whole curtain is packed with flowers. The big flowers have lots of pointed petals, orange at the bottom and going pale yellow at the tips, like a dahlia opening up. Behind them there are large leaves in dusty blue and teal, small sprays of yellow leaves, and little white flowers sprinkled in between like grains of rice. In the photo it hangs on a plain cream wall, and it is the first thing you look at in the room.

Holiday Poinsettia And Holly is pure Christmas. The background is white, and on it there are big red poinsettias with pointed petals in 2 shades of red and a small white dot in the middle. Around them you get dark green holly leaves with sharp edges and red berries, thin pine sprigs, little branches with blue stems and red berries, and bunches of green and white berries. Small light blue dots are scattered everywhere, like snow falling. In the photo the 2 printed panels hang with a plain cream panel between them, and the cream calms the red down a lot.

So which one? The navy one works all year, and because the background is dark, the room feels even darker at night. The poinsettia one is very much a December curtain. Up in the first week of December it looks lovely, by February it will look like you forgot to take the tree down.

Now, the sizes. The 7 ft one is the one shown in the first photo, from a rod above a normal door down to the floor. 5 ft is for a normal window, and 9 ft is for a tall glass door or a room with a high ceiling. All 3 are 4 ft wide.

The fabric is thick, and with a rod pocket top that means the curtain does not glide on the rod. You push it open with your hand, and on the 9 ft size there is a good weight of fabric hanging, so use a strong rod with a bracket in the middle.

One thing about room darkening, the fabric stops the light, but light still comes in from the sides and from above the rod. Fix the rod a little wider than the window, about 15 to 20 cm on each side, and a little higher than the frame, so the curtain covers the edges. Without that, you will still get a strip of morning light on the wall, curtains or no curtains.
